Right now, our bi-weekly meetings consist of members rolling in, showing what they've been working on, and then breaking off and chatting with other members about development, games, and all sorts of other cool stuff. Which is great! But we think that we could bring more to the table for these meeting, and that's what Member Talks are all about.
The idea is that you can come up with an outline for a low-key, casual talk about anything related to game dev. And when we say anything, we mean it. Some ideas for talks include (but aren't limited to):
- New programming methods you're testing out
- Achieving a specific look in a particular art style
- How you went about making the sound effects for your most recent project
- What you've done to successfully (or unsuccessfully) market and sell a game
- A post-mortem
After reviewing your outline with some other members, we'll work together with you to both pick a meeting for you to give your talk AND potentially post a version of your talk, written by you, that will feature on the BGS front page!
If you're interested or have any questions, join the conversation in this thread on the forums. We've already got a few in the works coming up we think some people will be pretty excited to hear.
