Autodesk Maya LT is a modeling and animation software for indie game designers. In this workshop you will learn your way around Maya’s interface and basic 3D modeling techniques for games. You will also learn how to export your models to Unity game engine. Each session will end with a modeling exercise and preview of your models in Unity.
General familiarity with computer software, no previous 3D modeling experience required. Bring your own laptop with Maya LT and Unity installed, a 3-button mouse is a must. IMPORTANT! Download and install the software ahead of time, we don’t want to waste workshop time to do this. I will be available 1 hour before the workshop in case you run into any technical issues. Additionally you should bring a sketchpad.
- Free demo version of Maya LT is available on Autodesk’s website: http://www.autodesk.com/products/maya-lt/overview
- You can download Unity here: http://unity3d.com/get-unity
