We've got three workshops scheduled for the month of August! Come to the Space to learn about 3D modeling for Unity, basics of UV unwrapping and texturing 3D your models, and creating models for 3D printing!

BGS Workshop: 3D Modeling For Games Crash Course

In this workshop you will learn basic polygonal 3D modeling techniques in Autodesk Maya LT, a modeling and animation software for indie game designers. You will also learn how to export your models to Unity game engine. The session will end with a modeling exercise and preview of your models in Unity.

3D Texturing And UV Mapping in Maya LT

This workshop is an introduction to 3d texturing and UV mapping in Maya LT. You will learn how to unwrap your 3d models in Maya LT and then paint textures for them in Photoshop or other image manipulation software. This workshop is for those who are already familiar with the Maya’s interface and have basic understanding of 3D modeling. At the end of the workshop you will export and preview your models in Unity game engine.

Intro To 3D Printing With Rhinoceros

This workshop is an introduction to computer modeling and rapid prototyping. We will cover the basics of generating and editing 3D models for 3D printing. We'll be using Rhinoceros, a powerful 3D modelling software well-suited to creating models for fabrication, and the MakerBot Replicator 2 3D printer. At the end of the workshop we will print our models!
