BGS once again hosted a jam site for Global Game Jam this past weekend, and attendees made 12 games based on the theme "Transmission" - check them out and play them today!
Abandoned Portal Factory
"You and your twin brother are exploring an abandoned portal factory, but your he is much further ahead than you. Gotta catch up, but be careful - these portals look dangerous, and you have no idea where they'll take you, or what they might do to you. Avoid them at all costs... or try to go through all of them - this is your adventure through the abandoned portal factory, experience it however you want! The game is played with a single button, which you hold to aim your jump, and release to jump in that direction (for more control mid-air, you can press the button again to double jump, which gives you a little boost and slows you down horizontally). The player sprites for this game were created by 24 of the jam's local participants. One person would draw a spritesheet based on the original spritesheet, and then passed (or transmitted) their spritesheet to the next person, who created one based on that."
"You wake up trapped in an unfamiliar room with only television glow to guide your way. Controls: WASD to move Mouse to look ESC to exit You to enjoy!"
"Work together with a fellow knight (another player) to solve puzzles while searching for a lost treasure inside the ruins of an old castle. Requires two computers, each with a mouse, keyboard and headphones (preferred)."
Epic Quest of Prohetic Destiny
"An epic quest. Duh."
If You'd Just Listen to Us, You'd Stop Dying Already
"Multi-screen experience where the audience must guide a pilot through increasingly difficult levels. The catch - the pilot cannot see most of their surroundings."
Is Anyone Out There?
"You are receiving a radio transmission from someone stuck in a radio tower during the zombie apocalypse. You have to fight through zombies in order to save them."
"You're one of four DJs that works at a radio station in a post-apocalyptic city. You're responsible for entertaining listeners with music and reporting on news as it happens - but what do you report? Too much positive news and the city isn't prepared for disaster, but too much negative news and the city loses hope. Your programming directly influences the city - use it wisely!"
"An alternate timeline where Space Pizza Delivery is the job for all top tier pilots. But it doesn't pay that great, so their ships have finicky manual transmissions (because they invest in other surprises). Pop the clutch and jam through Space in your favorite jalopy."
"A game commisioned by CBS studios that uses bleeding-edge game engine technology to put you in the shoes of the Transporter Chief on Star Wars. I mean Star Trek."
The Last Place of Knowledge
"Your a librarian in the last place of knowledge in your country. You have to transmit the books you collect out. But the more books you carry the slower you are. To drop press left click, and to transmit stand next to a radio tower and right click. Get caught and you lose. Press r to try again."
"You're on a mission and you also like trance. Beat DJTranceEggs and get to the end!"
Whale Escape 2D
"Escape a whale, relying on transmissions to navigate"
