Applications have closed, but you can still attend the workshops! Read on to learn more.
Buffalo Game Space is proud to announce the first Fall Game Workshop Series. BGS is offering up to six students the opportunity to attend this series of workshops covering every aspect of game development free of charge, as well as offering coworking and equipment access. From September 6 to November 29 BGS will be offering workshops covering every element of game creation and development, from the basics of game design to the essentials of programming, creating art and music, storytelling and more. The workshop series will conclude in a game jam where attendees will work in teams to create a game in 48 hours using the lessons learned from the workshops. Following the game jam will be a public showcase of the games made by attendees.
"This is a great opportunity for anyone who might not normally have the means to take courses on valuable skills or access to high-end equipment," says BGS President John Futscher. "Game development is a huge and growing industry. By offering these workshops and benefits to students who can't acquire them on their own, we're helping them gain the knowledge needed to gain a future in one of the world's largest technology sectors."
